You can only run a server for those games, IF they have server software that runs on linux. I know counter-strike has one, try searching for "hlds linux" on google.
You can use any distro you want, however for a dedicated server you better stick to some minimalist distro e.g. slackware

I don't think that is correct. All 2.6.x kernels I have used contained ntfs drivers.

Since lsmod doesn't return anything, i think you need to install the kernel-modules package on slackware cd.

Fedora and Slackware target two completely different markets. Fedora is cutting-edge, and userfriendly making it suitable for desktops; Slackware has only proven stable packages (thus old), not for people unfamiliar with unix and better-suited as a server.
