I downloaded the 2.4.32 patch and used the same command but the same problem occurs. Can anyone tell me how i can update my kernel?

Salam guys and a very happy eid mubarak to all! I downloaded the patch 2.6.15 to update my kernel 2.4.20-8. I used the command patch -p1 < patch-2.6.15 and it gave some errors and also asked for the file to patch at the end. Can anyone tell me where I am wrong? The error looked like this. patching f...

Salam thanks for the reply. I figured it out. ;) Yaar why does my PC goes on a standby on 2-3 min idle time only in Linux (not in Windows). How can I update my kernel and how can I compile a kernel? Which tool whould I use for C and Java programs. What does the enterprize applications mean in Linux....
