How to go PROM prompt ( OK prompt)

I have Red Hat Linux installed and I wanted to go to the PROM (like we go to PC's BIOS by hitting F8 key).

How can I get the "ok" prompt where I can use the devalias , printenv, banner , boot-device commands.

Thanks,

Also is ls a SHELL script itself or it is a C program? can we open it to see what is there. If yes, what Editor should I use? Thanks for any feedback! Data ...

I have been through this URL but that does not mention how to boot from Windows machine. That just tells pick the option (HTTP, FTP, NFS) but does not tell how they get this far..........how they boot from windows machine..
