How to go PROM prompt ( OK prompt)

I have Red Hat Linux installed and I wanted to go to the PROM (like we go to PC's BIOS by hitting F8 key).

How can I get the "ok" prompt where I can use the devalias , printenv, banner , boot-device commands.

Thanks,

From where ls -l information is coming?

When I issue ls -l command, from where SHELL is getting information about file's attributes? is there a internal database that UNIX/LINUX uses? Also is ls a SHELL script itself or it is a C program? can we open it to see what is there. If yes, what Editor should I use? Thanks for any feedback! Data ...

If floppy diskette boot is not working then I doubt about USB stick as well. I however used dd utility to format and make the diskette bootable, but there is another uti...
