yep, reinstall grub- the boot loader.

I have googled but seems like no one has done it before.
I tried to play with it a little bit using info from Tariq Zia's tutorial, that I had previously used for connecting to internet, but it didn't work.

nops it didn't work out. i couldn't run many application while others kept crashing. finally i did a clean install. aptoncd helped me recover some installed applications so that i didn't have to download them all. i had ubuntu desktop and alternate iso (read how i got these at www.shahfaisal.wordpre...

No problem, I dont need that. BTW, I tried but couldnt get VMWare working, now trying VMBox or something like that.
