Announcement : Linux Kernel-2.6.1 Released!

Postby xahid » Sat Jan 10, 2004 4:47 pm

Linus Torvalds (The 1st Linux maker) released the final 2.6.1 Linux kernel. This release has a lot of changes since 2.6.0, many things have been merged from the -mm tree. This release includes a patch for the mremap() vulnerability too.

After releasing this Linus will be in Australia for the week, Linus explains:

"I'm going to be in Australia (and on airplanes) for the week, but we're all in the capable hands of Andrew, so why worry? The fact that I'm fleeing the country should in no way be construed as anything sinister at all, no siree. Nope. I'm innocent, and nobody saw me do it."

just wanted to know that if they have moved udev into this release or still sticking with devfs. I feel udev is very promising. Anyone tried it??
