Asslam aliekum,
bhaion jab iss site ka naam linux pakistan rekha hai to phir pakistan ki mother tongue ya maadri zabaan to urdu hai.to aap sab log urdu main kyun posts nahin kertay hain.
iss baat ka her giz yeh matlab nahin hai kay mujhay english nahin aati hai. mager aap logoun nay Linux ki baaqi forums ko bhi dekha hoga jin ka taluq russia aur europe waghera kay un mulkooun say hai jahan english nahin boli jaati mager wahan ki forums un ki apni maadri zabaanon main kyun kay unhain apnay mulk walon ka khayal hai.
haan unhain yeh perwa bhi nahin hai kay un ki site doosray mulkoun kay lug bhi browse kertay hain mager ager koiye humaray mulk ka linux janna chahye aur ussay english nahin aati to woh kya keray english americans kay liye bolna sunna aasan hai kyun kay woh un ki maadri zabban hai.
iss liye is site kay administrators ko bhi chahye kay woh urdu main is site ko develop kerain aur linuxpakistan ko waqai linuxpakistan banein....
COZ URDU ONE OF THE BEST LANGUAGES USED IN WORLD.
aap iss say yeh mat samjhaye ga kay mujahy english nahin aati ya main urdu ka hamaity hoon.

I disagree. Either use an urdu font and post in urdu text as well. Reading roman urdu hurts my eyes. It took me sometime to read what you have written.

One more thing. Time is money and I dont have that much to waste on reading Roman Urdu.

My 2 cents.

Poll is a nice idea. Better try this out. But who will participate in the poll. Active supporting members or everyone??

The number of active members who SUPPORT queries and answer them are the one concerned. Are they comfortable with it?? My contributions though very small, I have a right to express my opinion. I am not comfortable with it and in a previous thread these views were expressed by others as well.

One more thing. People who ask questions get redirected most of the time to different resources on the web which are in English. If they can't read here, what can they do then?? Let's face it. There is nothing like an Urdu documentation of Linux. One has to understand English.

Most of the time these days, I find answers not in articles but in mailing lists and most of them are in English. If one can't read English, then one is devoid of almost all resources of learning Linux.

to begin a thousand miles journey you have to start from one step.

move forward start working to promote urdu docs for the beloved OS and other software applications.

All efforts are for those who has limited or no understanding of english. I am not saying that they should not learn any language, but it would be great if they have found their solutions in their language.

This is time to give value to our values. Ethicaly speaking

Agreed! and I am in favour of linux docs being available in Urdu but Roman Urdu is something I am not comfortable with. It is my personal shortcoming then. This is what I suggested in the first place. It's becoming more of a chat now and I will stop. Shall continue with you on IM...

We can only request our admin to include to urdu language in forum cuz roman urdu also hurts me ,,,but not much as zaeemarshad

Guys, patches are welcome. We use the latest stable release of phpbb here. Please feel free to send me diffs against the latest release fileset.

That said, I agree with Zaeem's assertion that reading urdu in english fonts is quite hard. I'd much rather read plain old English text.

Urdu text already works on this forum. Only the subject header does not take Urdu. I can easily post in Urdu from my Linux box using FireFox, as I am sure everybody else can. Only problem is that most of us can type faster in english.

I have compiled some tips for Urdu use under Linux, which maybe useful.

Why you are read roman urdu why not we appeal to admin of this site to give here urdu language fonts and utilities.he should provide us these thing cause there are the representative of linux from Pakistan.
aap ko roman urdu perrhnay ki kya zarrorat hai hum sab ko chahye kay woh iss site kay admins (Nazim) ko bolain kay woh iss site per urdu zaban kay liye fonts aur dossri ahem cheezain ferhaam kerain yeh unn ki zammaydari hai kyun kay woh Pakistan ki taraf say linux kay numainday hain.
Umeed hai aap sab loug unn say appeal kerain gay.
Jahan tak poll ka sawaal hai to mera yehi andaza hai kay ziada akseriat urdu waloon ki hogi kyun kay yeh Pakistan main Linux ki sab say barri Site hai.
Aap Polling zarror kerwain aur nataij sab hi dekh lain gay.
