Can you run Direct X on Linux

Can you run Direct X on the Linux. Because now you can run MS-Media player 6.4, MS-Office 97, MS-Word 2000&XP, MS-Excel 2000&XP, MS-Powerpoint 2000&XP, Internet Explorer 5.5. If you want to see click on the url. It is a good site. Lots of information.

no directx on linux

Hi, AFAIK, no you cant do directx on linux. But who cares OpenGL is there and its really cool in linux. Bye.

Well, technicallly you cannot run DirectX in linux
But opensource projects like Wine ( www.winehq.org ), RWind ( rwind.sf.net ) allows to run many windows based application and games on linux.
Also, there is this somewhat commercial WineX ( transgamming.com) which allows many high end commercial games like Half life, Tomb Raider, and many more to run in linux.

SDL(Simple Direct Media Layer) seems something related with DirectX,its shipped with Redhat Hat,here is a link for you

that's an entirely useless answer. sdl won't help the poster run windows directx apps on linux.

well maybe DirectX by MS can`t be run but directX does exist in Linux world ,i mean one can do game programming at all so it would be useless answer but not 100 (:
