Your LAN MAN might be able to help you in this. :P

What is the Exchange distance from your home and what isp you are using?

Exchange is in F-11 and I live in E-11. Also I used Hungama Card, Cybernet but both are disconnecting, this problem started to happen 2-3 weeks ago.

Are there any settings which I give in kppp (or wvdial.conf) so it prevents to disconnect from internet even the signals (bytes receving) are very low?

Try to change your isp and then see. This is due to line issue or isp issue.

You may also want to check all the joints in your telephone line.

I changed the ISP but the problem persists.
I recently transferred my line to fiber optic and there is no joint in my line.

There is also a possibility that some problem has occurred during the transfer process. :?

not in this case.

Isn't it amazing how so many people can type "linuxpakistan.net" into their browsers but not "google.com"?

Hi :)
I pretty sure that you can tell me some settings so that kppp (or wvdial) prevents my computer to disconnect from internet, even transmission drops (temporarily or permanently) :)

use the "debug" option in your ppp's options config file. when the connection drops, look at the last few lines in your ppp log file, or perhaps in daemon.log or debug.log. that might help you figure out why it drops.

if you don't see anything in the logs, read the man page for ppp and syslog.conf, and read /etc/syslog.conf.

Thanks for your reply. ppp log does not provide any help but I will check syslog and will tell you when this will happen next time because sometimes this happens again and again and sometimes it does not happen for 2-3 days.
Thanks
