what is the best virtual PC for windows platform to virtualize other operating systems?

1. Microsoft virtual PC
or
2. VMWare

?

For Windows i should go for Micro$oft Virtual PC, reason behind that because you are using Micro$oft Windows then you should use another Product which was made by Micro$oft. However if you want to use VMWare t hen it would be good as well.

that depends on what operating system you want to run hosted. vmware supports linux, freebsd, and others; virtual pc officially doesn't. you also have to jump through some hoops to install linux on virtual pc.

there's also qemu; use it with the kqemu kernel extension to speed things up.
