Well,

I'll just say, its better to keep an updated local copy of LDP Howtos and checkin there before finding it on the net, sometimes we get a little extra knowledge thats worth it ;)

Maybe what you need is Terminal server sort of a thing. In that case following link can be quite usefull

Or if you need to remote loginto another linux machine, you need to go through GDM remote Login. In that case, kindly go through GDM man pages for remote login and if you can not understand it, I'll explain it with a more detailed response.

I think, if he only want to share desktops or if he want to login to remote machines then he can also use VMware is also good for Remote Desktop. and SSH for Remote Login...

If all you want to do is use your PC as XTerminal then I recommend using GDM or KDM that come standard with any X-Based Linux distribution anyway.

Using VMWare is a waste of resources for this purpose
