AoA

yeah i checked it there. i checked it also on www.kde.org and apps.kde.com but i didnt find any such thing. ok lets say it like, is there any application which just monitors dialup connection and resides in panel?. same like the two computers go down in system tray when we connect through internet using a dial up connection in windows.

its no problem to monitor the connection using details in kppp. but its annoying to go to kppp and click details every time u want to monitor the connection. its better if one finds some application or applet that monitors internet connection and resides down in panel, just like those two computers in windows or modem lights applet in Gnome.

Thanks for ur precious time

What would u say if i told you that you already have this option in kde's kppp to dock the lights in the applets in kde?

The thing is the option is there, you just need to enable it.

Do this:

1.Run KPPP
2.Click on setup
3.Click on misc Tab
4.Check the option which says: "Dock into panel on connect" and "Show clock on Caption"

Its so simple.
Its just like the windows "two computers " icon at the task bar.
Click on those lights and it will show:

Connected At: ...
Time:...

Details etc

You just need to look into the right places lol!

No need to browse to freshmeat and download a plethora of un needed tools.
