Wrong forum selection

increasingly there is a trend that ppl are posting topics and their questions in the wrong forum section. this makes it increasingly difficult for me and others who have got limited time and sections to answer and they simply miss other forums. i urge all the new subscribers to plz at least read each section's outline and then decide where to post this question as they are there for managability.hope no body minds that

( I wonder if i have posted in the right forum. ???)

Regards
Zaeem

Users not only need to post in the appropriate section, but they also need to search the forum first to see if their question has already been answered.

zaeemarshad,
We have several moderators who have the authority to move posts if they are posted in incorrect forums (the fact that we're too lazy to do so a lot of time is an entirely different matter :)).

In my opinion add check point when anyone try to post new thread. System will check its existence in previous posts and if found generate a page what he got from the database and give suggestions for thread initiator.

Well, i think, in such cases, the main fault is of the users who make such mistakes. And yes agreed, mods should be a little more active.

Also, Users should have enough common sense to make sure they post their questions in the appropriate forums.

Donot know about others, But I do move posts when i find them in the wrong section.

Also we need to set the forum descriptions on the main forum page to more suitable ones, which would help users understand which forum should their question be posted exactly in.

Good idea, but it may have coding complications.

Also, there is no substitute for a user's common sense hehehe
