A large group of companies having its head operations of IT in its Textile Company is under my consultation these days and required the following professionals in its IT department:

Network & Systems Administrator (NASA)
Information Systems Manager (ISM)

This group has hybrid environment and requires highly dynamic professionals, following are the job descriptions:

Network & System Administrator

To provide fully functioning, well-tuned networks and systems for use by employees and customers. To ensure adequate resources are available on the systems for current and future use and to monitor and track all operations of the system. To perform server, network and workstation software and hardware configuration, installation, troubleshooting and repair. To assist end-users in the use of computing resources

Job Requirements:

• BCS, BS-IT, MBA (MIS) will be preferred
• 3 to 5 years system Windows/Linux server administration experience
• MSCE, CCNA, RHCE will be preferred
• 3 to 5 years network administration of IP based networks, wide-area and VPN technologies.
• 1 to 2 years installing, configuring and maintaining server, network and workstation hardware
• 2 or more years in administration and support of any Enterprise Mail Server in a distributed environment
• Must have demonstrable proficiency in the following technologies:
o Windows 2003 Server
o Linux
o MS SQL Server 2000 / Oracle
o 802.11 Wireless networking
o Active Directory, Group Policies
o Sendmail, QMail, Exchange 2003
o NIS, SAMBA, WINE, IIS Server, Apache,
o Firewalls
o Intrusion Detection Systems
o System Monitoring
o Malware (Virus/Spyware/Adware) management.
• Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule when required (i.e. upgrades and maintenance must be performed in off hours).
• The ability to develop, schedule and execute to project plans is essential.
• Must have excellent oral and written communications skills.
• The ability and desire to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment

Information System (IS) Manger


The IS Manager has responsibilities within the IT Infrastructure and Research/Development sections of the IT Division of Company. He will manage IT and Systems infrastructure, planning, development, deployment, operations and provide user support, LAN and WAN. He will lead a team of IT staff with the aim of maintaining high level of standards, control and support to the IT department and IT operations within group of companies. Within IT Infrastructure, major duties and responsibilities include server systems administration and security, maintaining and managing the department’s multi-user systems, plan, coordinate, propose, and install new hardware and software to ensure departmental needs, second-tier help desk support, and project coordination. From Research/Development perspective, major duties and responsibilities include involvement in design of unique database and web-based in-house applications. The position will also provide day-to-day supervision and coordination for the System Administrator, Support Supervisor and Operations Manager. He will Consults with management to determine data processing requirements. He will apply knowledge of system capacity to determine feasibility of projects. Maintains current knowledge of new hardware and software and recommends upgrading to maintain efficient operation. Schedules and assigns work to IT staff. Performs analysis of department production and redesigns workflow if appropriate.

• BCS, BS-IT, MBA (MIS) will be preferred
• 5 to 7 years system Windows/Linux server administration experience; experience in development environment will be preferred
• MSCE, CCNA, RHCE will be a plus
• 5 to 7 years network administration of IP based networks, wide-area and VPN technologies.
• 3 to 5 years experience of Team management, process documentation and policy administration
