I thank u farrukh bhai for the links u gave me of the websites and i hope they`ll help me in the way 2 success.


also i`m not getting driver/software for my
webcam i.e: GENIOUS Video cam live
even i have the site on the manufacturer`s driver cd that is for product but i cannot locate the driver for my cam.

can anyone experience of using cam in linux?????/

Salam,

Sir, I don't have any idea about the Driver for your WebCam but i think Wine should works for you here :) Try to download the Windows Executeable for your WebCam and then run it from Wine hope works for you :)

If using fedora then you will be able to get some repo sites which providing you all types of drivers.. Just google about them

IM usinf RHE 4.

let me know, y its(drivers) too much diff in Linux.
its a drawback of linnux???

Its not the draw back of linux. Ask the vendor to provide the drivers for linux or else use latest release of linux or else upgrade your kernel to latest one. Am sure its support will be added up in that.

i have checked my Kernel Version using command $uname -r
found the kernel version 2.6.9--5 Elsmp.
is it need update.
i am also trying on google/linux.
