sound problem

i'am looking 4 sound driver... i've an old 16bit fullduplex sound card... where i can get drivers sites 4 linux....
if u find anything which shows my lack of knowledge,
please guide me... thx

I suggest you download driver detector and run it.
It will tell you the apropriate driver for your hardware, and then you can get that from
www.driverguide.com

there are already some drivers of sound cards in linux kernel.
first try to use them.
in 2.4 kernels the sound modules are in
/lib/modules/kernel-2.4-??/kernel/drivers/sound/

see them and try to recognize your module.
modprobe it.
if your sound card is not supported then compile the kernel and see if its in section of OSS modules, if its not there then
last option is ALSA.
a project for sound cards in linux.
