oracle related stuff installation
Lemme tell you something, I got in the mood for installing Oracle 9i on my box last week. Guess how much space the DB product requires? 1.9 gigs. Holy cow, I mean talk about a space guzzler. Am not sure about Designer, but you should be able to get by with abt 500 megs for JDeveloper. For installation issues, the guide here is very helpful.

that sucks
basit also told me that it oracle DB took 1 gig of his space
-my friend just told me that there were 2 versions one is called Enterprise took 3Gigs(for windows)
and other is personal oracle(for Win98),requires upto 1 gig for server and 200Mb for developer6i took 200MB(for win98)
i wonder is there any *personal* version stuff for linux too.
