Asus Motherboard Compatibility

Please tell me which one of them is Linux Compatible.
Asus P4PE/L/GD Sockel 478 i845PE ATX/Sound/LAN/USB 2.0/FSB533/DDR/AGP

and

P4s533-mx Skt478 Sis651 - Matx Vga Snd Ln Ub20 Fsb533 1a/3 In

and

Asus P4S533-MX Skt478 Sis651 DDR/SDRAM Integrated Graphics support 3GHz+ P4 CPUs on 533MHz FSB Motherboard

it once happened ...i had used linux rh and manrake ,caldera on about 10 diff motherboards ..but i am not sure ..non compatiability may be bcz of any other issue RAM or VGA....

although on the box of mother board its written with which os its compatiable

As far as I Know .. almost all of the mother boards from ASUS are compatible with linux , their drivers are available on ASUS site and for the built in sound .. you can download it from http://intel.com .. as its using the same AC'97 Sound Chip As Some Intel Mother Boards are using.

Yes I see on the Website. VGA and Ethernet is compatible but i cannot see the sound card is compatible. are you sure that sound is compatible.

I find that to get a general idea of whether a piece of hardware will work with Linux or not, you can just pop a Knoppix CD into the machine and see what works and what doesn't.
The notable exception is modems, of course.

Yes i downloded Knoppix. But it is Germen Version. Can you tell me any idea how can i boot germen cd into english. and see knoppix in english. it is very good OS.

I am Sending you this from Knoppix. KDE 3.x is a very good desktop. I try this on Asus. It configered the Sound Card as AC'97 intel compatible. But no voice come out. do you know how can i listen.
