Hy every body !

I am new in Linux. I have installed Red Hat Linux 9 and configured apache on the this .

Now i want to install MySql on this . I studied different sites like

and tried to follow there steps but could not get proper results.

So if any body has knowledge of Installation and configuration of Mysql on Linux then plz help me

Arif,
You don't need to do any of the stuff outlined in the guide you linked to. mysql comes with rh9. Just go to the 'Start Here' option on your desktop, open up the package manager, and install mysql. It'll ask for one or more of your rh9 installation cd. After installation, go into the Services applet in the Start Here System Configuration section. Start up the mysql server (check the checkbox next to it to have it start automatically). That's it. Now read the documentation that came with mysql to find out how to leverage your brand spanking new mysql system :)
