Hy all !

I want to install and configure mysql on red hat linux 9

I have studied the following links

upto 1 page it works ok but on the 2 page its give me problem over this command

# chown -R mysql mysql-3.22.27-pc-linux-gnu-i686 mysql

the second link is

http://perl.about.com/library/weekly/aa11o800a.htm

its give me error on the this command
on the 5 step:

./configure -p port number


So could any body help me in installation of Mysql on linux

if you are using redhat then just Install RPM

and if not then mysql does provide Binary version too and its easy to install and configure
