AoA Dears,

I have downloaded the Fedora Core 6 Live Cd after 2 month hard work becuase i am using dialup. I burn it using CdBurnerXP Pro - A freeware http://www.cdburnerxp.se/.
I am burning ISO file in Win XP. I have burned the ISO file successfully but when i want to boot the live CD. My computer detects the CD and load the command line grub with message like following

GNU GRUB version 0.97 ( 639K lower / 261056K upper memory )

[ Minimal BASH - like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB lists possible command completions. Anywhere else TAB lists the possible compltions of a device/filename. ]

grub> cursor blinking

what is this? why my Live Cd work more. Plz help me. i have wasted so much money and time on it

I am waiting for +ve response.

is the file you downloaded http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/f ... vecd-1.iso ?

here are a few things you could try.

if the page you downloaded the fc6 live cd from has a "sha1 checksum" for the cd, install sha1sum and check the image. run it as "sha1sum.exe d:\fc6.iso" (use the proper path to the file). from a web page i found, the sha1sum should be 8771d21af1974492424438cbe42f1bae0161ea96

if the sha1 checksum is correct, maybe your cd was burned incorrectly. if you use xp, i recommend using iso recorder to burn the image. it's free, and can both burn iso images and create iso images of cds (just make sure you get the right version for your system).

you never know, maybe your cd was bad. don't burn at the highest speed, burn at (say) 24x, or 20x. an extra minute or two won't hurt anything.

if all fails, or if the checksum is incorrect, post here.
