First of all, a very warm welcome to you.
Welcome to LinuxPakistan!
No matter where u are from, we are all brothers....humans!

I assume you are having problem configuring your CS4235 sound card in debian linux.

I already answered your question here:

http://www.linuxpakistan.net/forum2x/vi ... highlight=

In that thread i helped a guy running redhat linux 9 configure the same card using sndconfig.Since you are running debian, therefore u need to download sndconfig in source or .deb format and use it to configure ur sound card.

Since, the answer to your question would be a little different from what i gave in the mentioned thread, therefore For your convenience, here is the answer :

1.If you already have the sndconfig program, just type sndconfig in terminal and hit enter...It will start the sndconfig utility and will configure your sound card.

2.If you dont have the sndconfig utility then:

Download the sndconfig utility in .deb format from:

ftp://sunsite.ualberta.ca/pub/unix/Linu ... 1_i386.deb

or from:

ftp://sunsite.cnlab-switch.ch/mirror/de ... 1_i386.deb

or from:

ftp://ftp.ntua.gr/pub/linux/debian/pool ... 1_i386.deb

Install it using the command:

dpkg -i sndconfig_0.70-1_i386.deb

Once sndconfig is installed, then run it in terminal by typing sndconfig.
It will auto detect ur sound card and configure it.Voila your sound card is configured and u will be able to use sound now.

Also u can run sndconfig in conservative terminal i.e in run level 3
