i am using Mandrake 9.1. Now my scanner is shown compatable in Sane web site with Backends. It shows this message when i go to Mandrake Control Centre < Hardware < Scanner.

The following scanner

- Artec E+ 48U USB flatbed scanner

is available on your system.

But the Xsane does not come to know that scanner is attached. Please help me in to configure this scanner. I shall be very thankkful to you. Please help me in it.[/b]

Tell me did You have the sane drivers installed? Did you install the sane-backends package? Did you also mount the device? Do you have a /dev/usb/scanner0 ? If all the above Questions Answers are Yes then All I have to say is look over http://www.angelfire.com/linux/crapsite ... ation.html and see if you're missing any of that.
