OUtstream, where did u download that rpm from?

It seems to be so old.

And most probably that error with the conf file is for the same reason.

Download and install these rpms:

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wine ... m?download

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wine ... m?download

These are the latest builds yet.
I have personally tested them...and they work and no conf error is seen.
So as a first step, download and install the latest build.

I think people need to read previous posts well.
As stated previously, goto www.rpm.pbone.net or rpmfind.net or any other rpm repository and search for and download the missing dependency from there.

First of running winnt program files located on an ntfs drive through wine has not been tested...and errors may be witnessed sometimes.

The winnt system folder is present both in windows nt and also in windows xp...so mention whether the files u are accessing are located on a win nt drive or a win xp/2k drive?

Anywayz Well...here is my wine.conf file...which works fine with programs like winamp etc which i run using wine through my windows 98 c drive and sometimes through my windows xp ntfs drive.

NOte: (You can try changing the "Path" = "${HOME}/.wine/c" to "Path" = /mnt/location)
(The dlls located in the system folders are accessed from the c drive here)

Mr Faraz.Fazil sir

sir ji actually my windows foler is winnt which is windows 2000 and the file system is not NTFS, its FAT.

Secondly sir in ur post u said

NOte: (You can try changing the "Path" = "${HOME}/.wine/c" to "Path" = /mnt/location)
(The dlls located in the system folders are accessed from the c drive here)

Does this means i have to change the path to *path*= /mnt/location ? like in my case its 'cdrive' so i should write it as *path*= /mnt/cdrive...?. if it is like this, then i have already did it, as u may see from my earlier posts in which i posted the whole wine.conf file. And also if we have to change that path to get it worked then how come its working with u? i mean the file u have posted as ur wine.conf file in that file path is not changed.

Thanks for ur precious time

and yeah, is this a good idea to use wine, having windows98 partitions accessed rather than having windows 2000 partitions accessed?...i dont have windows 98 installed at the moment, but if u recommend me accessing windows 98 instead of windows 2000 when i use wine...i`ll install windows 98

Did u try running any program other than mirc, like winamp with wine?
If not, try it out.

Check:

http://appdb.winehq.com/appview.php?appId=77

To see whether mirc works with wine or not.
