Gaming Server

Salam O Alykum

I want to install a game server that can host about 15 games, like Counter Strike, MOHA, Generals, Red Alert , War Craft etc etc. (i mean heavy games)
Yes, Obviously i need a Linux server, Any Guidance??

may be some these game will run on Linux with the help of wine, but i think several games not.

i think you'll find that games under wine won't run very well, as servers. still, worth a shot.

just get a server with lots of ram (3gb) and a really fast processor.

what Software or Application and distro will be better to use?
i don't know any of the application that can handle several hosted games on server.
i need this server only text base. (Having no GUI)

You can only run a server for those games, IF they have server software that runs on linux. I know counter-strike has one, try searching for "hlds linux" on google.
You can use any distro you want, however for a dedicated server you better stick to some minimalist distro e.g. slackware

Hi...

Yes Regarding COUNTER STRIKE...i did setup CS Server on linux about 2 years back...it was working fine...can not say for sure about other games..
