well I am experienceing this strange problem !

I have a 200 MHZ pentium CPU with a 2MB S3Trio64V+ video card

i install red hat linux 6.1 7 7.1 and 7.2 on it and Xwin works gr8 but on rhl 7.3 xwin give me error about device not found or so, everything is ok in the cfg file but still ....... it won't work

any ideas ?

aoa well for the s3 2mb vga dont work in rh 8 too . so it means old vga to run with old version
well try to install the linux using the graphical
then set ur default mode to graphical
if it still dont work
then change the init level
vi /etc/inittab
set ti to 3
then againn run Cconfigurator
