I just want to know if there is any messenger that will run on linux server and client is on windows platform like windows live communication. Please help guys I need your output.

run a jabber server. there are many jabber clients for windows, linux, etc.

to be exact u can use OpenFire,

ejabberd probably uses fewer resources, and is easier to set up than openfire.
