Zoltrix Smart Cobra lite V3

I am using Smart cobra lite v3 modem in Red Hat version 9
THe modem detected by the Redhat, but when I try to connect
through KPPP it gives error Modem is busy.

Please Help me to solve the problem

Try downloading "hsfconfig" script, run it and then you will be able to access your modem.
If your modem is hcf, get "hcfconfig".

Once done, try different devices on kpp, e.g, try, /dev/modem, /dev/hsf01 etc.

Gooogle for the download links.

You can download the Driver from http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/ and make sure to download the correct driver for your Kernel, you can verify your Kernel Version ( uname -r )

Dear Linuxfreak

You provide the link contains the free drivers works with
the speed of 14.4k only. the other option is to purchase
the driver which cost almost 15$.

The second problem is Modem is reply well but when
I try to connect the interent using KPPP after showing
"Logon to the network Messager" it give message
kppp down unexpectedly log file contains the following
messages:

it also happened to me few of the times..but after that it also gives u an option to use kpppd in the debugging mode... i then make it run in debugging mode... which results in connectiing to isp with out any problem

Assalam-O-Alaekum!

Normally, terminating on Signal 15 means that the connection ended normally (a user initiated termination). Anyway, if your modem is responding, try some other dialer like the GNOME's network control applet or wvdial. See if that solves the problem.

i downloaded the driver from www.linuxant.com/drivers sucessfully and using and cannot connot to yahoo or any other messenger

i think they need higher connections and i have driver from the site which is 14.4 k maybe that is y i see the problem of no connecting any instant messengers like yahoo for linux and gaim


so is there any site giving the full 56k driver ?
also browsing is slow

i have these of my system configuration but i face RH linux 9 very very slow so is there any way to tweak my linux and have fast speed rather than adding more RAM???

but i`m using its driver of 14.4 as available and it browses sleepy
(installed in linux)
