Squid (IPCop) Transparent proxy issue only for linux clients

Postby s7r1k3r » Mon Mar 01, 2004 10:01 am

Assalam-O-Alaekum!

I have a small network running IPCop with squid acting as transparent proxy. All the windows machines on the network are working fine. One machine is on RH9 and it is not picking up transparent caching. I have to manually set proxy settings for this machine.

Any ideas what might be the case?

Regards.

Are you sure that you havent excluded its ip explicitly at the ipcop system?? never heard of a problem like this before. check a few things:

1)Put the ipcop ip in your resolv.conf and then host www.yahoo.com to see if dns is working.

2)See if there arent any iptables rules specified on the client.

BTW what browser are you using??
