I Cannot start X server

AOA

i dont think this question is asked b4.
then i m sorry to post it again.

Tommorow i switch off my RH8 machine of office and then i went off to my house. and when today when i switched it on ... it got error

I cannot start X server(your graphical interface). blah blah blah

i hav searched a lot and got possiblities of solving it. but no such luck
look like that it is a font error ... not getting the font from the dir or default font is missing
xfs server is starting but shutting down is failed ... i think xfs server is not working.
--- log file shows ---
> > Could not init font path element unix/:7100, removing from list!
> > Fatal server error:
> > could not open default font 'fixed'


i tried to install the font rpms but no luck tried chaning the xfree86config file but no luck..

can any one guide me in easy steps what should i do..

comment out the previous fonts in the config file and add a new path.try iit![/size]

No doubt coding all the FontPaths in the XF86Config will work for the standalone kind of a PC , but in the networked environment
a healthy single XFS server should be preferred.

So it is better to find out whats wrong with the XFS sever, why it is
not listening at port 7100, instead of just commenting it out of the existence.
