How connect Digital Camera

Salam all Pluc Gays & Girls:
I have usb digital Camera I have attached in mandrake9.0 but where it shows the picture in which directry.Please help me as soon as possiable.Thanks

salam
I have a USB GENIOUS webcam when i connect it with my redhat 9.It only show which usb port it connects in INFO centre.But Digital camara tool did not have the driver for it. Where to find driver.

Most (if not all) USB cameras appear like USB disks to the OS. Therefore, if you can mount USB discs, you can use the USB cam. For example, my camera (HP) had to be configured to use regular USB mode (the default mode requires a Windows driver). Once that was done, I was able to use the cam. Here's my fstab entry

/dev/sda1               /mnt/usbstick           vfat    user,noauto,umask=0 0 0

When you plugin the camera, you'll get a message in your /var/log/messages indicating a new device has been plugged in. If not, make sure you have the correct USB modules loaded. On my 2.6.x kernel, they are:

  • usb-ohci
  • usb-storage


If you do get a message on plugging in, try mounting the /mnt/usbstick (or whatever mount point you specified in the fstab entry).
