Postby Adnan Siddiqi » Tue Dec 24, 2002 7:35 pm

hello all
I have been trying to run a simple Rewrite rule which redirects from one file to another but Mod rewrite doesn`t seem to work fine, though mod_rewrite.so and mod_rewrite.c files are present on my harddisk?
how can i check that mod rewrite is Up and working?i dont find any entry of
<ifModule> for mod rewrite
thanx

Make sure you have a line like

Code: Select all

LoadModule rewrite_module                modules/mod_rewrite.so

somewhere in the server configs. The line should be in the server level scope (outside of any <directory> etc. section). I'm not sure how you can reliably determine whether the module is loaded or not short of sending a HEAD request to httpd and looking at the Server signature.
