Postby ghulam yaseen » Fri Oct 10, 2008 5:20 pm

Hello :oops: ,

i am trying to implement auto mount of my USB drive but am unable to do so. the method that i am trying is below
=============
mkfs.ext2 /dev/sda1
vi /etc/auto.master
adding
/removable /etc/auto.removable --timeout=4
vi /etc/auto.removable
removable -fstype=ext2,rw,defaults :/dev/sda1
service autofs restart
=============
i am getting this message after i restart autofs

tail -f /var/log/messages
Oct 10 10:02:12 station108 kernel: SELinux: initialized (dev autofs, type autofs), uses genfs_contexts

i can find /removable but when i try
[root@station108 removable]# mkdir yaseen
mkdir: cannot create directory `yaseen': Permission denied

and when i do df -h then i can not find usb in that, please help

Dear ghulam yaseen,
Salam,

Make sure you have read, write and execute permissions on /removable. If you still face following try disable SELinux and try again.

Best Regards.
