Access EmailS Through WEBMAIL

Dear All

In my server "Squirrelmail" running properly and we access our email throughout on our LAN through webmail. But we cannot access webmail on remote site PC which is not on our LAN.

Please share your expriences with me.

describe the network between your server and the remote pc.

do you use dsl? if so, is your dsl modem configured to allow http requests through the modem to your server?

here is a hint if u r using DSL....enable port forwarding for port 80 on ur DSL modem to the LAN ip of ur webmail a result when anyone will browse ur live ip in its browser,will be getting the webmail page....

Set your router to bridge mod and run pppsetup on your linux box and configure ppp over ethernet connection and dial it , you will be connected internet and you will get live ip

but keep one thing in mind that your machine should have some good firewall and have strong password better if you will generate using /dev/urandom and md5sum method and save it some where for permanent to make your system secure
