Virtual ethernet card

Hello,

I have 5 network aliases like eth0 eth0:1 eth0:2. I want onw of them to assign something like eth3. How can i create a virtual NIC on existing network connected through one of eth0 eliases.

well you already creating virtual lan cards like eth0:1 eth0:2 what else you want to do??

why don't you add some more lan cards as per your requirement.

try to add vlan on your lan card and rename each interface as you wish and add as much vlans and assign ip to these interfaces using ip tools

better if you have two nic's create bond and than create vlans on that bond

for bonding and ethernet you have to install ifenslave and vlan-utils with their deps
