use mail (or mailx) to send the email. your system probably already has it as part of the base installation.

installing mutt does not mess with qmail at all. you have to understand what you're doing; your lack of understanding here is the cause of your misery. you're trying to install a mutt rpm (or deb) that requires a mail server installed. if you didn't install qmail using an rpm (or deb), the system doesn't know that you have a working mail server, and tries to install one. nothing prevents you from installing mutt from its source.

also, if you followed those crappy qmailrocks instructions for installing qmail instead of the "life with qmail" ones, you've made a serious mistake.
Watch out for the Manners Taliban!
Isn't it amazing how so many people can type "linuxpakistan.net" into their browsers but not "google.com"?

You can simply use sendmail command that must have already been installed on your system during base installation.

I think mail command will be usefull. If he do not have running mail server on his server then his email will not go out.

Best Regards.
