Virtual Private Network

Post by mohdali2 »

Hi Everyone

I have Redhat Enterprise Edition 4 at my system, I just intall a
web based system which is accessible within my home network.

I would like to setup a VPN Server on the same machine so I can
work on the software from any place through internet. I also would
like know which rpm need to install and Services should be started on Linux machine in order to setup VPN.

Thanks in Advance.

It is totally depends upon the choice of your VPN Server. If you wanna use FreeSWAN then you need ipsec rpm to be installed on your system and if you want to use OpenVPN then you need openvpn rpm to be installed on your system.

Best Regards.

Hi Farrukh

I appreciate if you can let me know the process to setup VPN for both types, or some link to website where I can find these information.

go to google. type "freeswan rhel"
go to google. type "openvpn rhel"
Watch out for the Manners Taliban!
Isn't it amazing how so many people can type "linuxpakistan.net" into their browsers but not "google.com"?
