dear fellows i installed the squid from source code. it is working nicely. then i paste the script to run the squid using service command in ( /etc/rc.d/init.d). "service squid start" command is working perfectly but "service squid stop" command in not working . please point out the error in the script.

I extracted the directories from squid rpm in a directory , then copied etc/rc.d/init.d/squid to / etc/rc.d/init.d/squid.
Then I opend vi / etc/rc.d/init.d/squid . Then the following code is opened.
Then I modify it as follows.

But I can’t stop the squid using (service squid stop)
