BIND server doesn't generate zone files

Dear all,
i have fresh installed Redhat enterprize linux 5 sever. Im configuring the BIND server that doesn't generate the zone files in side /var/named/chroot/var/named/ directory nor inside /var/named/. when i tried to restart the named service it fails with error message no zone files are found inside masters directory can any one guide in this regard.

you should configure it to write the slave zone files into named/slaves or some subdirectory like that, and then make sure the directory is owned by the user bind runs as. one of the following two commands will work:

chown bind:bind /var/named/chroot/var/named/slaves
chown named:named /var/named/chroot/var/named/slaves

i did that but it doesn't work, i reinstalled fresh BIND and now it is working.
