Postby zaeemarshad » Fri Nov 14, 2003 12:28 am

anybody knows what protocol id is 0x7d and 0x95. they keep filling up the logs and then the internet connection dies. pppd logs say unsupported protocol received. any idea.

Well.. Google says that 0x7d is PPP. I'm assuming from that that your ISDN connection is going down and because of that PPP is going down so the network doesn't know how to handle those PPP protocols. Your best bet is to copy and paste a line of the log verbatim and see what Google turns up.

Best Regards.

thanks i found the answer. yes 0x7d is the ppp id. it is actually the escape byte but pppd doesnt except it. known as the odd character, the value of odd-character must be between 0x00 and 0xFF, and cannot be 0x5E, 0x7D or 0x7E. thanx for the help
