you can use this scrip
#!/bin/bash

# srcipt for fine tunning the squid access.log file

tail -f /var/log/squid/access.log | awk '{printf(" %-17s | %-27s |
%-7s | %-s |%-s\n",$3,$4,$5,$6,substr($7,0,30))}'

if not sure how to use then please ask me

use the code tag for such commands, and use \ where wrapping won't work:

Code: Select all

tail -f /var/log/squid/access.log | \
awk '{printf(" %-17s | %-27s | %-7s | %-s |%-s\n",$3,$4,$5,$6,substr($7,0,30))}'
