localhost/info.php is not working

Postby usamahashimi » Thu Jun 08, 2006 10:59 pm

Hi
I asked a question here and someone told me to learn mysql and php. I, then, bought a book "mysql and php for dummies". I installed/configured mysql, php and apache just as it was told in the book. Then I write my first code and save the file in htdocs folder with name info.php. But the problem is that when I give address "http://localhost/info.php" the browser is saying that page can not be found, although http://localhost is working very well and it shows a message "it worked!". Can anyone tell me whats going wrong? If you need any file like httpd.conf or php.ini, I can provide.
Moreover is set the DocumentRoot to htdocs, Listen=80, it configured ADDTYPE, Action just according to instructions in the book. I tried it in linux as well as in windows but not working. Also i did not forget to restart apache after making any change.
Thanks

Dear Usman,

Please specify the version of PHP & Apache you are using, then I can help you.

Also, please confirm the following line in you httpd.conf file i.e.

LoadModule lib_php4.so

I dont' remember the above line, coz i am on windows not on linux, so plz send me the above question answer means versions of php & apache, then might be possible to help you.

Best of luck.

its seems your DocumentRoot setting problem... just paste your that portion of your httpd.conf which show DocumentRoot settings.
