I am using Redhat 9 I want *.dat *.avi media player and Msn Messenger. Kindly Plz help me.

Just try kopete which usually comes bundeled with linux and for playing your media files wether these were audio (most of formates) or video just download xine from www.xine.de and then install it as it will enable all the files to be played in it. it should be keep it in mind that in redhat 9 all the closed sourse codecs are usually not included but these can be installed after installation :)
