xinit and startx on Mandrake 10.0

hi all,
to day i installed the mandrake 10.0 communtiy on my frineds computer. the installation was all ok. now when i am issuing startx or xinit commands it gives following error and give me command prompt back.

execve /etc/X11/X not found (errcode 2)

also tell me the configuration command in mandrake 10.0 like 'linuxconf' in mandrake 9.2.
