sock enableing problem

please help me...
i am running a LAN Server of Linux .. and configure Squid for caching ,,,,, at the client end every thing is working.. but when i select sock4 or sock5 from MSN messanger or yahoo(On client side running windows 98,ME,200,XP).. and define there Ip addres of Linux Server with port 1080 the MSN and Yahoo messangers are not working.....I want to configure Sock on server??

Zafar,
Squid is an HTTP proxy, not SOCKS. Select the HTTP protocol and port 3128 instead.
