SMS service

Is there a SMS service which can be used with kopete (the KDE instant messenger) for sending SMS messages within the country? I know some mobile phone companies provide web-based facility for free SMS messages from PC to cell-phones.

Well not yet, because all mobile phone companies use different protocols!

I think Protocol is same but Ports are Differnet :) Correct me if i am wrong :oops:

Protocol is also different, and port is mostly USB these days :P

Protocol is diff because many companies don't follow strict standards of implementing AT commands and GSM Modem functionality.

I myself had headaches finding a fully compatible modem with Kannel.

And jess if you just want to send SMS to Pakistan consider the Link in my Signature :)
