aoa

i got an old p1 mother board..i need to configure the box as a router and squid.. so wt do u preffer ..which processor i whould use with i t

its socket 7 M.B can support 233mhz intel (256 kb cache)

450 mhz AMd K6/II (64 kb cache)
so which processor u suggesst that i should use
it got 64 mb simm ram

As u say... P-I motherboard (i don't know about the brand of that mother board but normally) which mean... it doesn't support Processors Intel P-I (greater than 233Mhz) or C3 (greater than 300Mhz) or AMD (greater than 266 Mhz)...

therefore i suggest u to assemble 233Mhz Intel... and second option which 450Mhz AMD it' can be configured on 450Mhz Clock (which i think so because it's P-I motherboard if it is :lol: ) but it can be configured on 300Mhz Clock and better approach is that u need Socket 7 motherboard which support C3 400Mhz or AMD K-6/2... and then :P
if u find anything which shows my lack of knowledge,
