My tv tuner now works gr8 under linux!

Hello folks,

I have a pixelview bt878p playtv pro tv tuner card.It runs fine under windows.

Im currently looking for some good softwares in linux for my tv tuner.
I downloaded and successfully installed xawtv, but it doesnt support pakistani cable frequencies, so the tv tuner doesnt work on it and does not display any channel.It displayed one channel once that too for 10 seconds, then it disappeared..

So my question is: Is there any tv tuner software in linux that works in karachi, pakistan.?

I already know the names of a dozen tv tuner softwares for linux...but i want to know the names of those that will work for pakistani/karachi cable channels.

Any help will be sincerely appreciated.

Wohoooo, i have solved the problem myself and my tv tuner works like a charm on redhat linux now.

I use xawtv as the tv tuner application.

I did some advanced setting tweaking and got my tuner working on linux.Here is what i did:

the command ?lspci? to list out the installed PCI devices.

The PixelView PlayTV Pro has the following settings:

bttv.o -> card=37 (PixelView PlayTV pro)
tuner.o -> type=5 (Philips PAL)

Edit /etc/modules.conf and add the following lines at the bottom:

# i2c
alias char-major-89 i2c-dev
options i2c-core i2c_debug=1
options i2c-algo-bit bit_test=1
# bttv
alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0 bttv
options bttv card=37 pll=1 radio=0
options tuner type=5 debug=1
pal=b

depmod -a

dmesg

Thats all.I ran xawtv and it worked.

i had hered that there was a person needed help was talking to person who also told him that he is inlahore... that i come to know when he told me wt hapened to him..
but he clearly said that he is not goin to tell????
so wt can we do in this case..wt will be the feeling of the person who dont know and being rejected to be helped???

does the person who know linux ..r proud of the him-self??

do they think that keeping their knowledge with them self ..will be a superior thing...??and other cant get information from any other source??

suppose if the person have a brain injury then...wts his knowledge about linux can play part??

i was feeling very sorry for those both person ..who know and dont tell and who dont know and have a chance to talk to person who dont tell
