Migrating Windows application into linux through WINE.
Recently we are working on a migration project of a VB based application from windows environment to linux environment and facing some problems related to database connectivity , is there anyone having experience in WINE.

zaheer , you are right ... If I am going to commit piracy then I have to adopt another way .. I can not voilate ...
all that I have done copying some windows dll files is only for testing purpose ... and it is successful .. .. so before I implement this ... I want to be clear ... that I am not committing Piracy
So now the question before us .. Can we copy windows native dll files .?

if you copy the dlls off a pirated copy of windows, it's probably not legal.tahiralmas wrote:So now the question before us .. Can we copy windows native dll files .?
if you own a properly licensed copy of windows, and you copied the dlls from it, it's probably legal. i don't think windows's license has any clause that prevents you from copying the dlls.
either way, you can't "redistribute" the dlls, unless microsoft specifically allows that.
