Post by nayyares »

Hello All,

I want to congradulate Sir. Kamran Azeem on getting publish his Linux Pocket Reference Guide for Administrators book, he is the first Pakistani Author who have made this effort.

I have reviewed this book detail is as follow:

Author
Muhammad Kamran Azeem
MCS
RHCE, CCNA, OCP DBA
Manager Technical
Ora-Tech, Islamabad, Pakistan.

Abstract:

Book starts with basic linux commands and move to Admin level command line issues, then author will take you to Linux TCP/IP Networking, that includes setting up hostname, IP address,..., Author has a great approach to explain all the system/network service in context of some domain, in this case, he has configure DNS, with an example domain and after that all services like, FTP,DHCP,NFS,HTTPD(Apache),NIS,SAMBA,SQUID almost all servers are configured with all possible scenarios, as the book is written in a way that no pre-req knowledge is required so any body can get ride of any Linux service within few minutes. An other feature of the book is the Technician level hardware issues, like cabling etc... Author has excellent aproach on IPTABLES which clearly comes into play when he explain IPTABLES.

The best thing about the book is troubleshooting tips that has been provided even with errors no. which clearly shows the research has been done.

Price:

Rs.180/- plus postal charges (if not in Peshawar)

AOA 2 ALL,

It is a really good job Mr. Kamran has done. I advice all the learners of Linux who need some reference books of Linux that read this book u will get lot of help from it.

One thing to ask this book is with Red Hat 9.0 or with Fedora configuration because I had chance to read Kamran's linux book which was for Red Hat 9.0. SO kindly inform me please.

Last but not least that make an effort to make this availble this book in all major cities of Pakistan such as Islamabad,Lahore,Karachi, Hyderabad and etc. This will help readers to get this book in their cities.

Once agin great job ! Keep it up...................

Hello,

Books has been written for Fedora/RHEL, but the concept and configuration is for all distros, secondly the book is printed in a large number, if you can find some book seller who wants to stock, please contact Mr. Sohail, or give that person Sohail's Number (0333-9183920)

M. Kamran Azeem's book published.

Hmmm books , I prefer some robot who remember all Unix/linux/AIX/Cisco/Juniper/Netapp/Oracle/.................... and all other commands , so i will not type linux commands on windows or Cisco console . people get confused .

We need some interpreter who help us to achieve our goals .

BTW Mr Kamran congrats :) .
