what do you want to know about the linux file system? there are many filesystems on linux -- xfs, ext2/ext3, jfs, etc.
Q2. Linux partitions like bin, root, home, what does it means is it compulsory to make all the linux partioiton or we can go ahead making few of them.
no, you can do fine with just one partition for root ("/").

again, what do you want to study about the filesystem?

you have to explain what you want before you'll get it.

Dear Hamid Abrar,

From your question What I have understood is that you want to know the file structure in Linux. you may visit
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/ente ... ystem.html
or if you are asking something else than there are other very nice manuals maintained by the RedHat. Vists http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/

well, without the actual error, and without a description of exactly what you tried to do, we can't really help you out.

the safest way to install linux is to buy another hard drive and dedicate it to linux.
